This conscience-based philosophy underpinned a landmark agreement in 2004 that saw Penfold Motors become one of Australia’s first vehicle dealerships to sign up with Greenfleet Australia.

Science shows that 17 mixed-species trees, growing as part of a biodiverse native forest, will not only absorb a car's annual greenhouse emissions, but will also help to tackle salinity, improve water quality and provide essential habitat for native species.

Under the initiative, which acknowledges that transport is Australia’s fastest-growing source of greenhouse gas emissions, the trees that are planted each year will help to offset the impact of vehicles sold.
